Nissan Nut custom Motor mount mod. I hope it works!!

I almost ripped my motor mount te other day on a hill climb. So I decided to prevent it from breaking. I have heard of numerous trucks ripping the driver side.

So I did this.

This is an Xterra/Frontier mount mod.

This is a new aftermarket replacement left/right motor mount. A piece of heavy chain is used to reinforce the mount. This mounts are failing on Xterras and Frontiers under heavy off road use.

I welded a piece of steel leaving a little slack in the chain.

We used an engine hoist to rais engine slightly since this Xterra has tons of steel skids all over the bottom.

Getting to the lower nuts is tricky on a 4wd. The bolts are right above the diff in a recess in the frame. Sockets dont really fit since the studs are so long. This is the best wrench for the job. Yes I reinforced the original as a spare.

Hope these hold up. Currently have three Nissans testing this idea on the trails.
