Custom Winch bumper on Nissan D22 Frontier         

There was not allot of winch bumper choices for the Nissan D22. So we decided to use a bumper designed for a Jeep, looks more like a Truck bumper actually. To convert into a winch bumper we added a universal winch plate.

Materials used: 

• Smittybuilt Jeep Wrangler Bumper from 4 wheel parts.

• 4" wide flat stock 3/16 thick

• 2x2 1/4 tube

• 2x4 1/8 tube

• 14mm bolts and nuts

• Black spray paint

This is a great bumper. Room for a winch and 4 light tabs and 2 D ring mounts. First remove the stock bumper. This D22 has a 2" Body lift. It was originally a 2wd. 

Now using some blocks of wood find were you want the bumper to be. Mock it into place. We added a piece of 11 gauge to the inside of the bumper.

.Now make a bracket that connects to frame to the bumper. Had to notch the bumper for room for the risers. Drilled out stock nuts in frame and added 2 new holes.

This is the bracket all welded. Slips right over the frame rails.

After removing the extra steel from frame horns plate it up. Now admire your improved approach angles.

Now to add the winch. First trim of some of the plate on bumper.
