Custom rear bumpers on Nissan D21 King Cab and a D22 Frontier.

Updated 7/26/2009

I need a stronger bumper for the trail. So I made this. Its 2x6 3/16 tube. The brackets are 2x2 1/8 tube.

.

The brackets are 2x2 1/8. I used one stock hole and drilled one new hole in the frame. The brackets are longer than stock so they reach the boxed section of the frame. The lug nuts are my official "mock up nuts".

All done, Super simple. The CB mount required 2 holes. One round in the top. One square in the back to connect wire.

Tested.

Update. I had to add a CB brace. My CB kept coming loose hitting trees etc.

Update 12-2008.

I decided to relocate the D rings and notch the corner for better departure angles. Also added a hitch.

Reinstalled with removed D ring mounts and corners cut off.

New D ring mounts now on the outside of the bumper. More clearance. I needed D ring mounts on both ends of both vehicles. So I made 8 of these from some left over DOM. They 1" wide. The DOM is 2" and 1.5" both .250 wall. Super simple and clean.

Just add shackle.

Relocated license plate into tailgate. It was getting scraped and was removed from bumper in favor of a hitch.

Added a BIGGER NISSAN emblem to the tailgate. Old one was too small.

  Frontier D22 Version

Here is a Frontier version I made using the stock OEM brackets. Bumper is identical.
