Cobra CB install in a Hardbody D21 and Pathfnder WD21

Two ideas were too mount a CB. This is where I decided to mount my new Cobra CB in the truck. I modified the stock brackets heavily. I welded nuts to brackets and cut up the plastic tray. I bolted the CB to the plastic tray. Works really well here. I can see the channel and make adjusts while driving quite easily.

I mounted the antenna in the rear bumper. I welded a 1/4 steel bracket inside the rear bumper. This was the height I needed to clear the garage roof. I also wanted the antenna leaning back slightly, to clear the tail lights and bed. You can see the weld marks where the tab is located.

Update since I made a new bumper and lost my CB antenna to a tree branch. I made some armor for it.

Added an new speaker and mounted on back wall. I used factory Nissan screws for 110V and CB speaker. There was a nut welded in the back wall. I added a aluminum plate to the inverter to mount it.

The Pathfinder has the same dash but the section below the radio is different. The ABS computer is mounted there in a 92 and older. Its under the drivers seat in the 93+. So I removed the ABS computer and cut a square hole. I cut CB mounts in half and bolted to plastic box. I mounted the Mic on the side just like the D21.

Update I moved the CB deeper in pocket for auto trans gauge clearance. I used plastic rivets instead of screws for easy install.
