Actuator replacement on Nissan Armada TA60 and Titan A60 (2004-2016) |

This
is how I changed most of the actuators on My 05 Armada without Dual
zone. Titans use the same parts. When the actuators fail you hear a
clicking noise when ignition is turned on or when changing Temp or HVAC
modes. Sometimes there is no noise. The actuators are the same part
numbers for 2004-2015 despite the dash had changes in 2008. I did
notice in FAST that 04 uses different part numbers for some
actuators. The same actuators are used in many Nissan models in
this time period. See my 2004
Quest page for 1 more example,
It was much harder The original actuators fail in a few ways. Some
gears split and some the shaft the gear rides on snaps off. The
actuators are all time and date stamped. They have been redesigned and
date stamped. There is 6 actuators in the Armada only 4 in the Titan.
Unless you have dual climate controls. Then you will have 1 extra. 3 of
them are the same part number. The other 2 are unique and have never
failed me. Still not sure what the passenger air mix door is. I
did read the Factory Service Manual for a 2005 Armada prior to starting
the replacement. My document stated to drain coolant and R134. This is
only need for 1 of the 5 actuators in dash. This actuator is the
"intake door motor" this is for fresh air. I have never needed to
replace this one, but I did buy it. It is different than the
others.
Here is a picture from the 05 Dual zone (Automatic) Factory service manual Youtube Video with more detailsThe rear of Armada has 1. Number 1 Broken pictures: Tools needed. 5.5,7,8 and 10mm sockets and ratchet. Phillips number 2 and 3. Plastic pry tools. Picks. No special tools needed. The actuators are (use at your own risk):
Number 1 - rear Replacing the Rear AC actuator is pretty easy in comparison to some of the front ones. Remove the right middle row seat belt lower bolt. Remove 3rd row seat belt lower bolt remove storage tray. remove bolts holding down D rings remove lower panel with panel removal tool. replace actuator. 3 bolts and 1 connector. test and reinstallNumber 2. This is intake door motor. It is for fresh air, I cannot replace without draining AC and coolant and removing HVAC box. Fresh air actuator is not accessible with unit in dash Number 3 The air mix door requires the dash panel to be removed. Well I did see someone replace via glovebox hole. But it does not look like fun. Its allot of work but actually very easy once you tear into it. These pictures are in the order I took things apart. Disconnect the battery first. 2 reasons why. 1. is the SRS light will detect an open and trigger fault light. 2. Air bag needs to get unplugged. First disconnect battery. remove radio trim. center console and shifter knob, glove box clips. Remove vents and lower dash panels Remove grab handles. Remove vents and grab handles and key trim Number 1 - rear 27743-ZP00A Replaces: 27743-5Z000, 27743-5Z011, 27743-7S010, 27743-ZQ00B Remove column trim and instrument cluster Remove front trim on dash to access screws. Remove top speakers with pry bar, no screws. Remove pass air bag nuts and electrical connector, (pry up tab), instrument cluster lid. I cut a tab instead of removing the center console. FSM states remove center console. So I cut the locating tab instead. Now pop off cluster lid. Remove the dash panel with airbag glued on to it. Remove 2 ducts to expose mix door actuator. Remove actuator FRAME. It is not possible to remove the actuator. I wasted time trying to access the bolts. It is so much easier to remove assembly instead. The frame must have been designed for easy replacement. Now install new improved actuator on frame and reinstall. Its very easy once you have the dash panel off. Now reinstall in the reverse order. Total cost under $30. This took me about 8 hours. I could not find any good pictures or videos online at the time I did this. I just read that it is doable. Number 5 The Air mix Mode door passenger - Automatic (Dual zone only) I dont have dual zone. sorry no piictures. I was told it is easy to access Number 6 The Mode door is above gas pedal and super easy to change Remove left lower
panel and bcm. Above the gas pedal. Remove 3 screws, disconnect
wire connector and replace actuator. Number7 The Defroster door This is above the gas pedal, but higher. No picture. not replaced yet
Hope this helps. email if you have questions i can go into more detail if needed. Email is on the Menu.
