1985-1993 ALL Nissans with a Manual trans - Starter not working (Starter relay)

     The Inhibit relay prevents the vehicle from starting without pressing the clutch. The relay allows the User to press the inhibit button and start the engine without pressing the clutch. The relay is located on the Right  fender well. Its behind the battery. This is my 93 D21 Hardbody VG30E. Same relay was in the Z24 and KA24s.

remove relay from holder by sliding down. Unplug both connectors. The Big connector is connected to the starter. The clutch pedal.

To test if the relay is teh issue, put a jumper wire between the two BIG connectors on the harness side. Make sure its in Neutral and if it starts. The relay is bad.

You can also test the relay with a DMM/VOM. But since they normally just wear out. They work occasionally.
